3. Booking and Reservations

Fares and Estimates: Fares are calculated based on distance traveled and trip duration unless a flat rate has been quoted and agreed upon before departure. All fare estimates may vary depending on traffic conditions, weather, road closures, or route changes requested by the passenger.

Waiting Time: A waiting time fee may apply after an initial grace period following the driver’s arrival at the pickup location.

Payment Methods: Yellow Top Taxi accepts cash and major credit/debit cards. Payment is due upon completion of the trip unless a corporate or commercial account has been approved in advance.

Cancellations: To avoid cancellation charges, please cancel bookings with reasonable notice before the scheduled pickup time. Repeated cancellations may result in restricted access to our services.

4. Passenger Responsibilities and Conduct

For the safety and comfort of all passengers and drivers, you agree to the following:

Provide Accurate Information: Passengers must provide accurate pickup locations, destinations, and passenger details when booking.

Seatbelts: All passengers are required by law to wear seatbelts when available.

Conduct: Passengers must behave respectfully and lawfully. Drivers reserve the right to refuse or terminate service if a passenger:

• Appears heavily intoxicated or under the influence of drugs

• Behaves violently, abusively, or disruptively

• Smokes, vapes, or consumes alcohol inside the vehicle

• Damages the vehicle (cleaning and repair charges may apply)

• Refuses or fails to provide valid payment

Personal Property: Yellow Top Taxi is not responsible for lost, stolen, or forgotten items left inside vehicles. Reasonable efforts will be made to return lost items when possible.

5. Driver’s Rights

Drivers have the right to:

• Refuse service to anyone posing a safety or legal concern

• Refuse trips exceeding the vehicle’s legal passenger capacity

• Choose the safest and most efficient travel route

• End the trip immediately if a passenger violates these Terms

6. Liability

Timeliness: While we strive for timely service, Yellow Top Taxi is not responsible for delays caused by weather, traffic, road conditions, emergencies, or circumstances beyond our control.

Personal Property: We are not liable for personal belongings lost, stolen, or damaged during transportation.

Injury and Damages: To the fullest extent permitted by law, liability related to the use of our services is limited to the total fare paid for the applicable trip.

7. Children and Booster Seats

It is the responsibility of the accompanying adult to ensure children are properly secured according to applicable provincial transportation laws.

Passengers must provide approved child car seats or booster seats when required.

8. Service Animals

Yellow Top Taxi fully complies with applicable accessibility and human rights regulations. Service animals are welcome in all vehicles without additional charges.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update or modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Updated versions may be posted on our website or made available upon request. Continued use of our services indicates acceptance of the revised Terms.

These Terms shall be governed in accordance with the laws of British Columbia and applicable federal laws of Canada.
